AARP’s Dinner and a Movie series pairs nostalgic essays about films from the 1980s and 1990s with recipes inspired by memorable scenes. Across installments devoted to Heartburn, Steel Magnolias, The Big Chill, Beetlejuice, and The Sandlot, cinematic references become richly detailed food environments, moving from a lived in wedding kitchen and layered pink florals to a warm family table, graphic midnight blue dining scene, and nostalgic baseball feast.
